First Presbyterian Church welcomes members of all ages! We’re following a Rotation Model-based curriculum, which focuses on in-depth learning about bible stories via multiple activities. Sunday school meets every Sunday during worship, and all children present for the service are invited to attend. We also have seasonal parties and activities, such as a Fall Party featuring facepaint, bobbing for apples, and cupcake decorating, or a trip to the water park at West Edmonton Mall. Our Children’s Choir joins worship a few times a year, and last year treated the First Presbyterian congregation to “This Little Light of Mine,” and “Come on, Ring Those Bells,” accompanying themselves on percussion and tone chimes. They rehearse during Sunday School for a few weeks before the big day.
The First Presbyterian Youth Group (ages 10 and up) meets about once a month, usually on Fridays, for fun activities ranging from a First Presbyterian Church lock-in to a visit to Hawrelak Park for a wiener roast & marshmallow toast. Contact Steve Colgan, the youth leader, at youth@firstpresbyterian.ca for more details.
Our youth blog also has news & updates about the goings-on at Church School and at our Youth Group events. Please send us your pictures!
