Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give
Remember this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Tax receipts
For a tax receipt, include your name and address with your gift, or ask the office about numbered offering envelopes.
The treasurer can answer questions about receipts and about giving through the year.
Ways to give
Four ways to make a gift
Whichever way suits you. If you would like your gift to go to a particular fund, name it on the envelope or in the message.
In person
Give through the offering plate on Sunday morning, or mail a cheque to the church office. Ask about numbered envelopes if you would like a tax receipt.
Online
Give online through PayPal, with a card or a PayPal balance, as a one-time or recurring gift.
By e-transfer
Add First Presbyterian to your transfer recipients using treasurer@firstpresbyterian.ca. If a security question is required, email the answer separately to the same address.
By pre-authorized remittance
PAR takes a set amount from your account each month, so your giving continues through holidays and illness. The denomination runs the program.
Causes and funds
Where a gift can go
To give to a particular cause, mark its name on your envelope or in the note with your donation. Undesignated gifts support the general work of the congregation.
Food Bank
Our church is a depot for Edmonton’s Food Bank: clients’ pre-ordered hampers are handed out here on Tuesdays, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Gifts here buy what the shelves are short of. Mark “Food Bank” on your envelope or donation.
Building Fund
A 1912 building takes constant care. Gifts here go to the maintenance of the sanctuary, the halls and the property. Mark “Building Fund” on your envelope or donation.
Music Fund
The choir, the handbell choir and the Casavant organ. Mark “Music Fund” on your envelope or donation.
Beyond the congregation
Presbyterian World Service & Development
PWS&D is the development and relief agency of The Presbyterian Church in Canada. The Care Committee supports its work, and gifts can be made through the church or directly to the agency.
In the neighbourhood
Hope Mission
Hope Mission serves people experiencing homelessness and poverty in downtown Edmonton, a few blocks from this building. Gifts can be made directly to the mission.
In the neighbourhood
Boyle Street Community Services
Boyle Street's mission is to end chronic homelessness in Edmonton, and its vision is to see all people grow healthier through involvement in strong, accepting and respectful communities. Much of its work downtown is with Indigenous people. Gifts can be made directly to the agency.
The Stewardship Committee also manages the Mary Giesbrecht Music Fund, the Olive Moore Education Fund, the Canada Youth Conference Fund, the Memorial Fund, the Lloyd Fourney Refugee Fund and the Community Dinner Fund. Read about the committees.
