Great News!!

On Saturday, June 20, the Presbytery of the Northwest (the Church Court that oversees all of the Presbyterian Churches in Central and Northern Alberta) supported the Call from First Church to the Rev. Dr. Mark Chiang to become your Minister!

Mark will officially begin his Ministry with you on August 01, although you may see him around from time to time before then. His focus for August will be on getting himself established and planning for September, which will include the official Presbytery Induction Service, tentatively set for the evening of September 20.

Over the past year, many people have worked very hard to maintain the life and ministry of First Church.  The Session, Board of Managers and the Search Committee are to be commended for their diligence and commitment.  In addition, Music and Christian Education Ministries have faithfully and consistently continued.  And, of course, all of you - members and adherents of First - have gathered for Worship to pray, listen, and grow in faith.

My term as Interim Moderator with you officially ends on July 31. Thank you for the privilege of serving among you.
