Visiting a church for the first time can feel unfamiliar. Whether you have attended for years, have been away for a while or are exploring faith for the first time, you are welcome here.

What to expect
What is a Sunday service like?
Sunday worship lasts approximately one hour. The service includes traditional hymns, prayer, Scripture readings, a sermon and music.
The church has a strong musical tradition, and choir music, instrumental music or solos are often part of worship. Visitors may participate as much or as little as they feel comfortable.
You do not need to bring anything, and visitors will not be pressured to give money or become members.
What should I wear?
People come dressed in everything from casual clothing to more formal Sunday attire. Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. You will be welcomed just as you are.
Will someone welcome me?
Yes. First Presbyterian is a friendly congregation where everyone is encouraged to welcome one another. Near the beginning of the service, there is a brief time when people greet those around them. Some people shake hands, while others simply smile or say hello. Participate in whichever way feels comfortable.
Can I bring my children?
Yes. Children and families are welcome. Sunday School meets during Sunday worship, and children who are present are invited to attend. The church also offers a nursery and youth activities. When you arrive, ask a greeter for directions and current information about children's programming.
What happens after worship?
Everyone is invited to stay for coffee, tea and conversation. It is a relaxed chance to meet members of the congregation, ask questions and learn more about the church. Visitors are welcome to stay, but there is no pressure to do so.
Getting here
Parking and entrances
The church is in the heart of downtown Edmonton, on 105 Street just north of 100 Avenue. Parking may be limited, so arriving a few minutes early is recommended.
Where to park
- Church parking lot. Directly beside the building, on 105 Street.
- Sunday morning lot. The lot across 105 Street from the church parking lot is also available for church use on Sunday mornings.
The Impark lot between the church lot and 100 Avenue is a separate, paid public lot.
Which door to use
- Main entrance. The front steps on 105 Street.
- Elevator entrance. Off the church parking lot, step-free to the sanctuary level and basement.
- Side entrances. Two more doors off the church parking lot.
The front entrance
Most visitors come in through the arched porch on 105 Street. Once inside, members of the congregation will be happy to direct you to the sanctuary, children's areas, washrooms or coffee area.
Coming by public transit
Bay/Enterprise Square LRT Station is a nearby option, with entrances around Jasper Avenue at 103 and 104 Street. The church is a short walk west, at 105 Street. Downtown bus stops run along Jasper Avenue and nearby streets.
Routes and schedules change, so please check before travelling.
Online worship
Can't make it in person?
Sunday services are livestreamed for those who cannot attend in person, or who would like to experience a service online before visiting.

No. People from every background are welcome, including those who are new to Christianity or simply curious about faith.
No. You will be welcomed, but you will not be asked to stand up or introduce yourself publicly.
No. Visitors should never feel obligated to make a donation.
Yes. Children may remain with their family. Sunday School is also available during worship.
